Toolboxes

The Maple Professional Toolbox
Series is a Maplesoft developed
set of products that target
key applications in engineering,
science, and technical application
development.

Optimization
is the science of finding
solutions that satisfy complicated
constraints and objectives.
In engineering, constraints
may arise from technical
issues. In business, constraints
are related to many factors,
including cost, time, and
staff.
The goal of global optimization
is to find the absolute
best answer for models that
have a number of possible
solutions. Global optimization
problems can be extremely
difficult. Frequently engineers
and researchers are forced
to settle for solutions
that are “good enough” at
the expense of extra time,
money, and resources, because
the best solution has not
been found.
Global
optimization problems are
prevalent in systems described
by highly nonlinear models.
These areas include:
Advanced engineering design
Econometrics and finance
Management science
Medical research and biotechnology
Chemical and process industries
Industrial engineering
Scientific modeling

The
Maple™ Database Integration
Toolbox allows engineers
and scientists to quickly
develop and deploy powerful
applications that combine
large enterprise datasets
with the state-of-the-art
analysis and visualization
of Maple.
Unlike conventional database
application development
systems, the Maplesoft™
solution offers optimized
tools to solve sophisticated
modeling and analysis problems
unique to engineering and
science. Maplesoft innovations,
such as the Maplet and MapleNet™
Web deployment technologies,
allow your application to
be deployed across the technical
enterprise.
Application Areas
The Database Integration
Toolbox is ideal for anyone
working with technical data.
In conjunction with Maple,
it can be used for:
Simple and complex queries

The
Maple™ Professional Math
Toolbox for LabVIEW™ augments
LabVIEW with easy access
to the sophisticated symbolic
and numeric math functionality
of Maple. The toolbox allows
you to develop solutions
within the LabVIEW environment
using the world’s most advanced
mathematical solvers and
a sweeping range of data
analysis tools.
The toolbox includes
over 150 ready-to-use LabVIEW
virtual instruments (VIs),
which can be seamlessly
integrated into LabVIEW
applications, making powerful
analysis and simulation
accessible to all users.
VIs include: LabVIEW/Maple
type conversions, symbolic
constants, symbolic and
numeric math operations,
and matrix and vector operations.
A rich Maple scripting language
allows you to extend functionality
of these pre built VIs,
as well as give you the
ability to build custom
blocks.

BlockBuilder from Maplesoft introduces a “First Principles” physical modeling environment for Simulink. Engineers can mathematically develop models of dynamic systems, particularly for plant control applications, and then implement them in Simulink as a subsystem block.
Featuring the full power of Maple, the world’s most powerful mathematical modeling system, BlockBuilder helps engineers to develop ideas from initial concepts to high-fidelity physical models, and automatically generate Simulink S-Function blocks to enhance and extend their Simulink models.
Application Areas
Control system development

Signal processing

Maple Toolbox for MATLAB is based on Maple 10 which brings the computational power within the Technical Document Environment of Maple 10 or within the Line Command Environment of MATLAB.
Maple Toolbox for MATLAB allows fully compatible code written using the MATLAB Symbolic Mathematics Toolbox. It also provides Two-way interoperability between Maple and MATLAB and switching between the two environments. Ease of usage within MATLAB is enhanced with the use of Maple's 'Technical Document Environment'
Application Areas
Mathematical functions:
Statistics
Optimization
Code Generation (C, FORTRAN, Visual Basic, Java)
